Hydro Electric Dams How things Work project By: Dryden & Julia

2 Ethical Implications Form And Functions
I feel like building the dam would be morally right. The dam would need the movement of water for order of the hydroelectric dam to work. It does not pollute the air/itself with pollution. A hydroelectric powered dam is a domestic source of energy. Water is renewable so the hydroelectric dam is renewable. It is the most affordable cost of power when it is spread out throughout the systems lifetime costs. The hydroelectric powered dam is such a reliable energy resource. Hydro Dams are flexible so the water flow of the dam could be adjusted and even conserved for power. Finally, dams are safer than most fossil fueled and nuclear energy powered systems. Even though there are mostly pros about Hydroelectric powered Dams there are some cons as well including the species that use rivers to spawn would be killed because the dam wall itself blocks fish migration , separating spawning habitats from rearing habitats, for places you can put dams in there are only limited amounts of places you can build dams in. Last but not least you could get a consequence from making dams and if there’s droughts in the area it would have a huge impact on the amount of Hydro power the dam would produce. Dams can’t produce electricity without any water. Hydroelectric Dams produce electricity by the water that passes through the dam. The main parts of Hydro Electric Dams are turbines which contain metal coils which are surrounded by magnets. Once the magnets get spun from the falling water on top of the metal coils electricity is produced. Electrons move through a hydroelectric dam by the movement of the water. The water turbines produce the power of the water of the hydroelectric dam. The turbines would also produce electrons. Which would also move with the turbine. The function of the dam would also be producing electricity from the amount of water is stored in the dam. If there is a drought in that area there would be no water supply for the dam to create/produce electricity.
