2 Paleolithic Era - Period of time when people lived in small nomadic hunting and gathering groups. (people who travel for food) Old Stone Age: 2.5 million-10,000BCE Everyone contributed equally & they used basic stone tools.

3 Neolithic Revolution:
Gradual change from hunting and gathering to farming. Stopped being nomadic Settled in permanent villages They domesticated animals (pig, cows, sheep). Technology advanced: clay pots, and wore clothing, etc.

5 Neolithic Revolution Long term causes: Short term causes:
Need for food & survival Ice Age Begins Short term causes: Food gathering women noticed seeds grow into plants. Game animals became scarce

6 Short term effects: Settle in villages Acquire more possessions New technologies – calendar Long term effects: Growth in population Increased interaction (trade & communication) Increased conflict/warfare Gender roles emerge
