3. 09/10 Field dimensions (7v7)
Recommend yards long by yards wide.
Center circle and arcs, 8 yard radius
Penalty area, 12 yards
Goal box, 4 yards
Corner arc, 1 yard
Penalty spot, 10 yards
A 6.5 feet (height) x 18.5 feet (width) goal is recommended based on the age and ability of the players

8. Build Out Line

9. Build Out Line
The build out line promotes playing the ball out of the back in a less pressured setting
When the goalkeeper has the ball, either during play (from the opponent) or from a goal kick, the opposing team must move behind the build out line until the ball is put into play
Once the opposing team is behind the build out line, the goalkeeper can pass, throw or roll the ball into play (punting is not allowed)
After the ball is put into play by the goalkeeper, the opposing team can cross the build out line and play resumes as normal

10. Build Out Line
If a goalkeeper punts the ball, an indirect free kick should be awarded to the opposing team from the spot of the offense
If the punt occurs within the goal area, the indirect free kick should be taken on the goal area line parallel to the goal line at the nearest point to where the infringement occurred
The build out line will also be used to denote where offside offenses can be called
Players cannot be penalized for an offside offense between the halfway line and the build out line
Players can be penalized for an offside offense between the build out line and goal line

11. Heading 09-11
Deliberate heading is not allowed in 09, 10, or 11 year old games
If a player deliberately heads the ball in a game, an indirect free kick should be awarded to the opposing team from the spot of the offense
If the deliberate header occurs within the goal area, the indirect free kick should be taken on the goal area line parallel to the goal line at the nearest point to where the infringement occurred

12. Concussion
Per U.S. Soccer’s Concussion Initiative, if a player is suspected to have a head injury the referee is instructed to stop play to allow for treatment/evaluation as needed
If the player leaves the field of play for additional evaluation, a substitution can be made in that moment
The player with the suspected head injury may not return to the game unless a Health Care Professional (HCP) or Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) has cleared the player
Any coach or parent insisting on returning the player to the game without approved clearance will result in the referee ending the game

13. DEHYDRATION
Evaluate the player and note if any of the following signs and/or symptoms are present:
Noticeable Thirst
Irritability
Decreased performance
Fatigue
Weakness
Nausea
Headache
Muscle cramping
Dark yellow urine (or no desire to urinate)
Lightheaded feeling or dizziness
Difficulty paying attention

14. DEHYDRATION
Treating the symptoms of dehydration is crucial in preventing more serious conditions such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
1) Rest the player in a cool place
2) Provide a sports drink containing electrolytes
3) Contact the parents immediately
4) If symptoms escalate, seek professional help

15. Substitution(s) Must occur at the half way line
Must be present at the half way line before the stoppage of play
No substitutions from the bench
Anyone:
At the half
After a goal
Goal Kick
One for one on injury

16. Substitution(s) Throw In: Team taking throw in
Opposing team may substitute at the same time as long as the other team is substituting and all the player(s) were at the half way line prior to the stoppage of play (piggyback)

17. Kickoff Procedure Visiting team call the coin toss
the team that wins the toss of a coin decides which goal it will attack in the first half
their opponents take the kick-off
the team that wins the toss takes the kick-off to start the second half
for the second half, the teams change ends and attack the opposite goals
after a team scores a goal, the kick-off is taken by their opponents

18. Kickoff For every kick-off:
all players must be in their own half of the field of play
the opponents of the team taking the kick-off must be at least yds from the ball until it is in play
the ball must be stationary on the center mark
the referee gives a signal
the ball is in play when it is kicked and clearly moves (the ball can move in ANY direction)
a goal may be scored directly against the opponents from the kick-off

Both teams are required to report scores
Scores will not post until both teams enter their score AND they match
Even the last games of the year teams must enter their scores
Make sure the coaches information is up to date
