1 One Worldview Can’t be Ultimate
Lesson 3 One Worldview Can’t be Ultimate

2 Take your mark, Get set, Go!:

3 Gospel Series “Starting Line” in the beginning of July
It is VITAL we know where we stand before we enter the marketplace of competing worldviews… Gospel Series “Starting Line” in the beginning of July Often overlooked BIBLICAL truths: - 1 Cor. 1:18 and 1 Cor. 2: 14 - Matthew 13 Words (only a verbal defense, apologia) will NOT work! **We must LIVE out a next level apologia: Acts 17** The “BUTS” are out there!!!

4 Two important unasked questions
First: Where does exclusivity come from? - The Dress:

5 The Dress was NEVER the issue

6 3 major answers: Unwavering yet Differing views of a single reality is the road to exclusivity Self-contradictory statements lead to exclusivity Deception leads to exclusivity In contrast, truth can NEVER exclude anyone or thing. Truth by its very nature must be ALL INCLUSIVE. Laws of nature…Gravity, Bus, The Dress (VIDEO)

7 Second VITAL question:
How many worlds are there? From what we just heard there are roughly 7,000,000,000 different worlds. This is in direct contrast to the rest of the natural universe We must understand where we currently are in the marketplace of worldviews. Most worldviews if not all in our current relativistic culture (sadly even in Christian circles) are run through this filter: “One worldview cannot be the true worldview.” This statement is a truth statement OR self-contradictory leading to exclusivity

8 “What are you going to do with Jesus?!” C. S. Lewis
“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

9 The Way, and the Truth, and the Life
Truth is. It does not need our permission to exist or acceptance. Newton’s 2nd Law of motion tells us clearly: do not step out in front of that bus coming down the road. There is nothing inherent in the Law of nature to cause it to exist. It does. And whether or not you personally accept this truth of our world, I would highly suggest that you do not step out in front of the moving bus. John 8: 58 “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”

10 How to go on from here: Historical Jesus The Resurrection The Church
The Scriptures! (Are we a people of the Book?) Gather, Pray, Equip, Go Let us lock arms and hearts and press in all the more into our dear Lord Jesus. Just like “the dress,” Jesus is not the issue. He is beautiful, real, lovely and holy. But our pictures of Him in this world are not always on the mark. This is why we need Him all the more. This is why we need each other, His Word, and His Holy Spirit. What if…

11 Lead me to the Cross Savior I come Quiet my soul, remember Redemption's hill Where Your blood was spilled For my ransom Everything I once held dear I count it all as lost

12 Lead me to the cross Where Your love poured out Bring me to my knees Lord I lay me down Rid me of myself I belong to You Lead me, lead me to the cross

13 Everything I once held dear I count it all as lost
You were as I Tempted and trialed Human The word became flesh Bore my sin and death Now you're risen Everything I once held dear I count it all as lost

14 Lead me to the cross Where Your love poured out Bring me to my knees Lord I lay me down Rid me of myself I belong to You Lead me, lead me to the cross

15 To your heart, To your heart Lead me to your heart Lead me to your heart
Lead me to the cross Where Your love poured out Bring me to my knees Lord I lay me down Rid me of myself I belong to You Lead me, lead me to the cross
