3 TEM-4 assignment Most of you, as students, are careful with your money in daily life: you collect all kinds of coupons; you look for group-buy deals if you eat out or travel; you don't buy clothes unless in a sale. However, some people think that all this may not make you smart consumers. What is your opinion? Write a composition of about 200 words. You are to write in three parts. In the first part, state specifically what your opinion is. In the second part, provide one or two reasons or your experience (s) to support your opinion. In the last part, bring what you have written to a natural conclusion or summarize. You should supply an appropriate title for your composition. Marks will be awarded for content, organization, language and appropriateness.

4 First draft feedback Three new anonymous samples from Class 1

5 Anonymous feedback Sample 5 for Class 1 Sample 5 for Class 2

6 Journal Writing Observing more carefully what you read about (e.g. leisure reading) Defining what, exactly, your field of study is really about (e.g translation) Wondering on the meaning of what you are studying and thinking about (e.g. translation, expository writing or thoughts) Finding connections in your personal life, connect to other courses, and connect one part of your course to another (e.g. personal life, expository writing to another course, TEM-4 writing to another part of another course) Responding to class readings (e.g. assigned books, articles etc.) Reacting to what took place in class (e.g. class discussion, instructor’s lecture or comments) Assessing, or reflecting on the value of journals themselves (e.g. writing about journal writing)
