2 Teaching aims and Demands
To identify specific characteristics, appearance, abilities, eating habits and danger in the context of animals. To develop students’ ability to infer meaning from context and key words. To learn more about the endangered animals and talk about how to protect them. To listen and develop students’ ability to extract information in order to complete two fact sheets.

3 Step 1 warm up and lead in In this unit, we have learned a lot about wild animals. Please guess what kind of animal it is according to descriptions.

5 Step 2 Presentation Look at the pictures. They are tigers and wolves. Do you know anything about them? Please have a free talk about them in groups. Try to say something about their appearance, ability, character, food and the danger they meet.

6 Talk about the two animals in groups, Please start like this:

Make a conversation about protecting wild animals with your partner. Use the sample conversation as a model.

shark’s fin soup. B: Why? It tastes delicious. A: Many sharks are killed because people eat shark’s fin soup. I think it’s wrong to eat it. Sharks have a right to live. B: If I don’t eat it, someone else will eat it. A: If everyone stops eating shark’s fin soup, then hunters won’t kill sharks any more. B: Maybe you are right. OK, I’ll stop eating shark’s fin soup.
