1 What You’ll Learn To identify segments, rays, and lines
7-1 Lines and Planes What You’ll Learn To identify segments, rays, and lines

2 Points Points indicates location A point has no size
You name a point by a capital letter A . point A

3 Lines A line is a series of points that extend in to opposite directions without end. A line is named by any two points on the line or by a lowercase letter A n B

4 Ray A ray is a part of a line with one endpoint and all the points of the line on one side of the end point. A ray is named using two points, starting with the endpoint A B

5 Segment A segment is a part of a line with two endpoints and all points in between. A segment is named by its endpoints A B

6 Intersecting, Parallel, and Skew
Plane is a flat surface that extends indefinitely in all directions and has not thickness Intersecting lines have exactly one point in common Parallel lines are lines in the same plan that never intersect. Parallel segments and rays lie in parallel lines Skew lines lie in different planes. They are neither parallel nor intersect

7 How can we apply this picture to Geometry?
