Originally created as a self-help group for 14 MATs (pilots to formulaic funding) The network coordinators A network for all independently run, state-funded schools offering support to help you maintain safe, warm & dry buildings.

Budget cuts December 2016 news articles - schools will have to find £3bn in savings in 3 years Electricity price rise speculation that suppliers will increase costs by at least 10% Gas prise rise predicted price rise in August Energy consumption schools staying open longer – more community use – thus more energy use Compliance statutory testing of buildings to ensure safety Maintenance high reactive maintenance costs of old school buildings Sustainability leaving a legacy of ‘fit for purpose’ buildings for future generations

We need to strive for the Efficient & Effective Estate, making it business normal Understand building condition Aggregate procurements Replacement strategies for 5, 10, 20+ years Use existing procurement routes Proactive & reactive repairs Make use of energy loans Drive value from funding Ensure buildings are compliant & safe Build smart & sustainable Training & support for staff
