2 Review of Implementation of MDMS WEST BENGAL (1.4.2016 to 31.12.2016)

3 Best Practices Rs.500 additional honorarium.to Cook Cum Helper.
Eggs are served once a week (all districts). Chicken 50gm, per child once a week in nine districts. 969 Dinning halls constructed through State Funds & from MPLAD funds. Kitchen gardens have been developed in 1994 schools. Three radio and two TV spots prepared on MDM. Awareness of MDM through newspapers. A leaflet prepared on MDM was circulated. 67 lakh units of eating utensils from State funds.

4 Issues Automated Monitoring system not yet initiated.
13 days less covered at both PRY & UPY. Huge variation in data on coverage of children (as per MIS – 83 lakh, AWP&B – 119 lakh) Food grains utilization is only 49%. Pendency of 8.49 crore to FCI as on Firewood is the mode of cooking in 74% schools.
