5
Assistance with Scavenger
Design of brackets for compressor coil
6
Researched gasket material to use for new panel design
Spoke with gasket providers such as Secon to learn about what would give the best seal for our compression
7
Weatherization 3 Unit Redesign and modifications Weatherization testing of old unit for basis
8
Deconstruction of W3 Back wall panels removed Vertical beam shifted Additional horizontal members added
9
Newly designed panels installed 3/16” closed cell gaskets and 1/8” open cell Poron gaskets to be tested
10
Remodeled W3 Unit tested
for air leaks and deflection of panels Data recorded and interpolated to show predicted leakage for EFC 400
11
Location of leaks noted for EFC unit
Freeze testing and rain testing are next to do Will show how the unit should hold up against severe weather conditions
12
Testing showed air leakage through panels due to significant deflection, also leaks through corners of panels This allowed us to see how little caulk we could use to reach the required leakage rates and to learn the best practices for assembly of future units
