A proper noun names a particular person, place, thing, or idea. A proper adjective is formed from proper nouns. Capitalize proper nouns and adjectives. Proper Nouns: China, Islam Proper Adjectives: Chinese food, Islamic country Capitalizing Proper Nouns and Proper Adjectives

In proper nouns and adjectives made up of more than one word, capitalize all words except articles, coordinating conjunctions, or prepositions of few than five letters.
