7 Breaking a Mirror: According to Roman tradition, why seven years of bad luck for a broken mirror? It comes from an old Roman belief that every seven years, you're literally a new person. Be careful with the mirror. Breaking a mirror brings bad luck even for the next 7 years. Walking Under a Ladder American superstition - never walk under a ladder. It may be bad luck for you.

 The will of the god Loki  The wishes of the goddess Venus  The rule of nature  The Holy Trinity

19 Tradition holds that the triangle formed by the ladder and the ground represents the three beings of the Trinity. To walk through it is said to go against God.
