MEDICAL STUDENTS F. Edward Hébert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) The U.S. Army offers one of the most generous and comprehensive scholarships available in health care today. It’s called the F. Edward Hébert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP). If you are planning a career in health care or are currently enrolled in a graduate health care program as a physician, it pays to look into the Army’s HPSP – now more than ever before. It provides benefits while you’re in school and benefits after you graduate. WHAT DOES THE SCHOLARSHIP PAY? Tuition: You will receive 100% tuition for any accredited Medical (Allopathic or Osteopathic) school within the United States or Puerto Rico. Bonus: You can receive a $20,000 initial signing bonus Monthly Stipend: You will receive a monthly stipend of over $2,200, adjusted each July for 10 ½ months of each school year. As the military pay scale increases, the monthly stipend also increases. Active Duty for Training Pay: Each year you will complete a 45 day Active Duty for Training (ADT) during which you will receive over $7,000. Book/Fees Reimbursement: The Army will reimburse you for your required books, equipment and most academic fees.
