3. History
Western Edge Cluster (WEC) established to develop a collaborative approach across Melton
1999 – WEC programs officially started
WEC now comprises of 4 Govt. schools, 2 Independent schools, 1 Catholic College & Djerriwarrh Employment and Educational Service
Western LCP, Brimbank Melton LLEN, Victoria University and the Shire of Melton are all active cluster supporters

WEC VET future
VET has become an integral part of the curriculum of each school
Non-government schools are aiming to add to VET subject variety & taking a more proactive role in the cluster
It is anticipated a state of the art community-based Trade Training Centre (TTC) will be established – aims to increase the participation of young people in industry standard VET programs in the Shire of Melton
