1 John 18:38-40 ( NKJV ) 38Pilate said to Him, “What is truth
John 18:38-40 ( NKJV ) 38Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all. 39“But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you therefore want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” 40Then they all cried again, saying, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber. John 19:1-6 ( NKJV ) 1So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. 2And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe. 3£Then they said, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck Him with their hands. 4Pilate then went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him.” 5Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, “Behold the Man!” 6Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.” 1 John 3:16 ( NKJV ) 16By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. John 3:14-17 ( NKJV ) 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,  15that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.  16For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  17For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Romans 5:8 ( NKJV ) 8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  1 John 4:7-11 ( NKJV ) 7Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  8He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.  9In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.  10In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  11Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 Peter 2:20-21 ( NKJV ) 20For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. 21For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for £us, leaving £us an example, that you should follow His steps: 1 Peter 4:1-3 ( NKJV ) 1Therefore, since Christ suffered £for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. 3For we have spent enough of our past £lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries. Hebrews 12:3-6 ( NKJV ) 3For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. 4You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. 5And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: “My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; 6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.”£

2 “Behold the Man” John 18:38-19:1-6 ( NKJV ) 38Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all. 39“But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you therefore want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” 40Then they all cried again, saying, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber. 1So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. And Pilate said to them, “Behold the Man!” 6Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.”

3 “Behold the Man” John 18:38-19:1-6 ( NKJV ) 38Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all. And Pilate said to them, “Behold the Man!” 6Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.”

4 “And they crucified Him” Jesus Shows Us The Father
Mark 15:37-39 ( NASB ) 37And Jesus uttered a loud cry, and breathed His last.  38And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.  39When the centurion, who was standing right in front of Him, saw the way He breathed His last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!” Matthew 27:50 ( NKJV ) 50And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. John 19:30 ( NKJV ) 30So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. Luke 23:44-46 ( NKJV ) 44Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.  45Then the sun was £darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two.  46And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’” Having said this, He breathed His last. When the centurion who was standing right in front of Him saw the way He breathed His last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!” (Mark 15:39)

5 Matthew 27:45-46 While Suffering…
“Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” While Suffering… Jesus Declared the True Problem of Sin Jesus Declared the True Problem of Sin - How Holy Is God? How TERRIBLE is Sin’s Penalty? Matthew 27:45-46 ( NKJV ) 45Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. 46And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” 2 Corinthians 5:21 ( ESV ) 21For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. Psalms 22:16-18 ( NKJV ) 16 For dogs have surrounded Me; the congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They£ pierced My hands and My feet; 17 I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me. 18 They divide My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots. Isaiah 53:5-6 ( NKJV ) 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. How Holy is God? How TERRIBLE is Sin’s Penalty?

6 Luke 23:34 While Suffering… Jesus Was Merciful to His Murderers
“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." While Suffering… Jesus Was Merciful to His Murderers The Father Wants to Forgive Even the Worst of Us Jesus Was Merciful to His Murderers - The Father Wants to Forgive Even the Worst of Us Luke 23:33-34 ( NKJV ) 33And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left.  34£Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.  1 Timothy 1:15-16 ( NKJV ) 15This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.  16However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.

7 Jesus Gave HOPE to a Hopeless Sinner Faith, HOPE and Love Remain.
Luke 23:43 “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise." While Suffering… Jesus Gave HOPE to a Hopeless Sinner Luke 23:39-43 ( NKJV ) 39Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, £“If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” 40But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?  41And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.”  42Then he said £to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” 43And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” 1 Corinthians 13:13 ( NKJV ) 13And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 ( NKJV ) 16Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.  17For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,  18while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 5:1 ( NKJV ) 1For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.  Faith, HOPE and Love Remain.

8 Jesus is the Author & Finisher of FAITH We Gain the Victory by FAITH
John 19:30 “It is finished” While Suffering… Jesus is the Author & Finisher of FAITH John 19:30 ( NKJV ) 30So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. Hebrews 12:2 ( NKJV ) 2looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. John 17:4-5 ( NKJV ) 4I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. 5And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. Hebrews 10:35-39 ( NKJV ) 35Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: 37 “For yet a little while, And He£ who is coming will come and will not tarry. 38 Now the just£ shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”£ 39But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 ( NKJV ) 7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. We Gain the Victory by FAITH

9 Jesus & the FATHER Are ONE
Luke 23:46 “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit” While Suffering… Jesus & the FATHER Are ONE When the centurion who was standing right in front of Him saw the way He breathed His last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!” (Mark 15:39)

10 What Must I Do To Be Saved?
Hear the Gospel (Rom. 10:17) Believe in Jesus as the Son of God (Mark 16:16) Repent of Your Sins (Acts 17:30) Confess Jesus as Lord (Romans 10:9-10) Be Baptized for Forgiveness of Sins (Acts 2:38) Live Faithfully until You Die (Rev. 2:10)

11 John 19:28 While Suffering… Jesus Showed What it Means to Truly Thirst
“I thirst” While Suffering… Jesus Showed What it Means to Truly Thirst God Gives Living Water to Those Who Truly Thirst John 19:28-30 ( NKJV ) 28After this, Jesus, £knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 29Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. 30So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. Psalms 69:20-21 ( NKJV ) 20 Reproach has broken my heart, And I am full of heaviness; I looked for someone to take pity, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none. 21 They also gave me gall for my food, And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. Hebrews 2:18 ( NKJV ) 18For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. Hebrews 4:14-16 ( NKJV ) 14Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

12 Jesus Provided for His Mother God Provides for His Faithful Children
John 19:26-27 “When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!" Then He said to the disciple, "Behold your mother!" And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home." While Suffering… Jesus Provided for His Mother John 13:12-17 ( NKJV ) 12So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. 14If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. Galatians 6:7-10 ( NKJV ) 7Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Acts 9:36 ( NKJV ) 36At Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds which she did. Acts 9:39 ( NKJV ) 39Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them. God Provides for His Faithful Children
