4. ORIGINS OF THE EUCHARIST
The night before Jesus died on the cross, he ate a special meal with his friends

5. He broke up a loaf of bread and said, "This is my body, given for you

6. The next day Jesus died on the cross.
Today, Christians still remember Jesus' death by sharing bread and wine together.

7. This has many names - Communion, Mass, Eucharist, Lord's Supper and Breaking of Bread. Churches do this in different ways. They may use little glasses or a big silver cup, little wafers or a loaf of bread.
