4 SIGNIFICANT POLICY CHANGES
Policy – Contracts – required for all contests; executed by the FHSAA Representative Policy 8.4 – Insurance Status Change – notification within 24 hours of a status change Policy – Academic Contract – contract generated before participation if all terms of contract are completed Policy / – Spring Football/Competitive Cheer not a prerequisite for participation the following school year Policy – Non-school teams – No commingling of funds between school and non- school teams Policy 24.1 – Camps, Clinics, Combines, etc. – May be conducted during the school year if a fundraiser for the school or school program provided….

5 Controlled Open Enrollment
F.S – Controlled Open Enrollment; Public School Parental Choice (2)(a) Beginning by the school year, as part of a school district’s or charter school’s controlled open enrollment process, and in addition to the existing public school choice programs provided in s (6)(a), each district school board or charter school shall allow a parent from any school district in the state whose child is not subject to a current expulsion or suspension to enroll his or her child in and transport his or her child to any public school, including charter schools, that has not reached capacity in the district, subject to the maximum class size pursuant to s (b) Each school district and charter school capacity determinations for its schools must be current and must be identified on the school district and charter school’s websites…

7 Transfers Eligibility – immediately eligible, if did not participate in the sport at previous school during the same school year If participated – must meet one of four exceptions: Dependent children of active duty military personnel whose move resulted from military orders Change in foster care placement that requires a change in schools Court Order change in custody due to marriage or divorce, serious illness or death of a custodial parent Authorized for Good Cause by the district or charter board policy

8 Transfers: Traditional vs Non-traditional
Traditional Student Transfer Immediately eligible (FS (9)(a) Did not participate in sport at previous school Meet one of the four exceptions to the May join mid-season if: Roster spot available Coach determines the skill set meets the requirements to make the team Non-Traditional Transfer Must register intent to participate as a representative of the school before the beginning date of the sport season (FS )

10 Recruiting Any effort to: Urge, Entice or Pressure …..a student to attend that school for the purpose of participating in interscholastic athletics.

Administrative Control Compliance with Rules Eligibility of Student-Athletes Cooperation with Association Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct
