2 Start every homework session with a 5-10 minute organizational Time
1. Double check homework postings 2. Fill in your planner 3. Plan your “order of attack” 4. Check for s from your teachers. Reply if necessary. 5. File papers in your accordion file. Remove papers from completed units to your home file.

5 4. Add extracurricular activities
1. Put on your clip so that you can easily open up to this week’s assignments and this month’s calendar. 2. On Monday afternoon, add in all of your assignments that are posted for the whole week. If you already recorded them in school, check to make sure that you didn’t miss any assignments or that there are not any changes. Write regular assignments in pencil Write quizzes/ tests/ project due dates in a bright color 3. Plan study/work time for any brightly colored assignments (at least 3 days in advance) 4. Add extracurricular activities

6 Plan your “order of Attack”

7 1. Label each assignment S, M, L
2. In parenthesis write how many minutes you think it will take you to complete each assignment. S (15) 3. Number your assignments in the order that you want to complete them (more difficult, easy, more difficult, easy)

8 4. Time yourself. If you want, set a timer for 20 minutes and then take a 10 minute break.
5. Evaluate. How did you do on your time estimates? 6. the assignment, give yourself a pat on the back, and move on.

9 Organizational Check List
☐ Is there a clip between the monthly calendar and this week’s calendar? ☐ Are assignments recorded for the whole week? ☐ Are quizzes, tests, and big projects recorded in a bright color? ☐ Is study (or work) time planned out at least 3 days in advance of quizzes, tests, and projects? Look at tonight’s homework. Did you… ☐ label each assignment S, M, or L? ☐ estimate how long the assignment would take? (for example, S (10)) ☐ number the assignments in the order you planned to complete them?
