The Columbian Exchange was the exchange of living things, diseases, and ideas across the Atlantic Ocean between the Old World (Europe) and the New World (Americas), starting in the 1400s after Christopher Columbus discovered central America. This exchange occurred as a result of the Age of Exploration, and was the start of establishing global connections around the world.

Upon arrival in the Americas, they slaughtered Native populations by using their advantages of steel, swords, germs, language, and horses, allowing them to set up new colonies and forever changing the populations in the Americas.
