3 DUAL ENROLLMENT ON-LINE COURSES
All Dual Enrollment courses taken online must be adopted with a ‘V’ in the eighth position of the course # (i.e.ENC1102V) For detailed coding instructions, please see the TAP SCH – 020 Dual Enrollment Procedures.

5 RANK-IN-CLASS (Early Graduation Cohort)
(3) A student who graduates early may continue to participate in school activities and social events and attend and participate in graduation events with the student’s cohort, as if the student were still enrolled in high school. A student who graduates early will be included in class ranking, honors, and award determinations for the student’s cohort. A student who graduates early must comply with district school board rules and policies regarding access to the school facilities and grounds during normal operating hours.

6 RANK-IN-CLASS REPORT MODIFICATIONS
Students graduating one year or more earlier than their 9th grade cohort are no longer ranked at time of graduation Early Graduates will only be ranked in their cohort year class rank.

8 FORGIVENESS POLICY 307 GRADE FORGIVENESS
a. Grades should be forgiven at least once every semester, but also may be forgiven upon student request. b. The forgiveness policy for required courses will be limited to replacing a grade of D or F, or their equivalent, with a grade of C or higher, or its equivalent, earned subsequently in the same or comparable course. High school courses taken in middle school may be retaken to forgive a grade of C, D, or F. The forgiveness policy for elective courses will be limited to replacing a grade of D or F, or their equivalent, with a grade of C or higher, or its equivalent, earned subsequently in another course. c. Elective courses may be forgiven once the student has completed the required amount of electives needed for graduation. d. All attempted courses will be listed on the student’s transcript. Courses which have been forgiven will not be calculated in the student’s grade point average for graduation. e. All high school courses taken, regardless of when they were taken will be used in computing the rank in class grade point average (GPA).

9 FORGIVENESS POLICY Flagging courses for forgiveness is critical, for graduation, GPA, Activities Eligibility., Pass to Play, Student Transcripts….. Panel Update the Flags field with an ‘X’ and Credit Earned must be 000. Run Report SB567 from CrossPointe S523 for Duplicate Courses. TAP GRD Guidelines for Coding Duplicate Courses and Forgiveness

10 SCHOLAR DESIGNATION REPORTS
Technology Services will be developing new Scholar Designation reports.

11 GRADUATION FLAGS Technology Services will be updating the Graduation Flags prior to Grading Period 1.

12 DRIVER EDUCATION ON-LINE COURSE
Driver Education courses will count towards meeting the on-line graduation requirement. The change will be retro active. Graduation Verification S522 and reports will be modified to reflect this change.

13 GRADUATION VERIFICATION GUIDE
Revised Guide will be distributed soon! Includes Current Graduation Plans by School and Year Graduation Requirements for Current Graduation Plans Sequence of course selection for each subject requirement for the Graduation Verification Panel (S522) Waivers – Personal Fitness, Physical Education and Performing Arts

14 COURSE NUMBER CHANGES Students scheduled in deleted and/or incorrect courses must be updated prior to Midterm Progress Reports (09/18/2014)(Excluding IB Course number changes) Detailed instructions for making the appropriate updates in CrossPointe and in the gradebook will be forthcoming. All updates must be completed prior to Midterm Progress Reports. (Excluding IB)

15 FLORIDA VIRTUAL SCHOOL (FLVS) COURSES
All FLVS courses must be added to the student’s schedule. Course must be coded with an ‘N’ for FTE Eligible Survey This is critical for graduation verification, Counselor evaluation purposes and for Talented 20

16 WP & WF FLORIDA VIRTUAL COURSES
WP (Withdrew Passing) or WF (Withdrew Failing) must be enter in the Final Average Grade Field. Credit Earned and Credit Attempted must be 000. The WP & WF will appear on the student’s transcript.

17 MIDDLE SCHOOL CIVICS REQUIREMENT
Out of State transfer students with Civics courses will need to be entered in S520 Academic History, as well as all other courses taken the same year. Z301 Grade 06/07 Transfer can no longer be used for the year the Civics course was taken. Middle School Promotion Exit Report is being modified to include Civics change. Directions will be forthcoming

22 NON-PUBLIC FLAG Always check the Non-Public flag on the S313 Demographics/ Enrollment panel when registering a student. If student is not a non-public student and has a flag indicating otherwise, the roll-up will be adversely affected, as well as Survey Information. A full time public school student should be coded as ‘0’ in this field. STD_C Students with a Non Public Flag not equal to 0 report is available in VCS Reports & Downloads under Enrollment. Check report for accuracy throughout the school year, especially prior to roll-up and FTE.

23 COMMON STUDENT IDENTIFIER
New legislation impacting the calculation of FTE. FTE is now prorated among all districts, including FLVS, that serve a student during any of the reporting periods. (Surveys 1, 2, 3 and 4) The calculation is done on an annual basis. If the Student Identifier is not consistent throughout reporting, the student’s entire FTE earned for the school year will be nulled.

25 TIPS, TAPS & TECHNOLOGY From our district web site, select VCS Intranet>Departments> Technology Services, select Reporting Requirements and Support Services. Select Tips, TAPs and Technology on the left side of the panel. For CrossPointe TAPs (Technical Assistance Papers), select TAPS.

26 CALENDAR OF EVENTS The Technology Services Calendar of Events provides you with Important Deadlines and Information regarding the Event. To access the calendar: Got to our district Home Page Click the Calendar tab. At the bottom right, click the Show Master Calendar link. The view defaults to the District Activities Calendar and there is a list of available calendars at the bottom right. To access the Technology Services Event Calendar only, in the list on the right, click the radio button next to Technology Services.
