2 ‘ The Power of 10 using the Place Value System
Hundred Thousands (200,000) 2 x 100,000 Ten Thousands (20,000) 2 x 10,000 Thousands (2,000) 2 x 1,000 Hundreds (200) 2 x 100 Tens (20) 2 x 10 Ones (2) 2 x 1 As each number moves to the right, the value increases times 10. For example, the 2 in the ones place has a value of 2. If we move that 2 to the tens place it will now be worth 20 (2x10). The number times the place its in gives the value of the number. Power of 10 Rules: 33-When 2 numbers are together and the same, they are 10 times greater or lesser 303- The 2 numbers are the same and separated by different number, the 2 like numbers are 100 times greater or lesser.
