2. Aim of the study
to determine clinical predictors that can be rule out the need for CT scan among young children presenting with minor head injury.
Previous studies have shown 70-98% of CT scans done in cases of minor head injury are negative, thus exposing children to unnecessary radiation and sedation

3. Materials and Methods
Data was retrospectively collected from Trauma Registry database of the Trauma Center at Hamad General Hospital
between Nov 2007 and May 2010
Total 139 patients (95 males and 44 females) <18 years.
Univariate and multivariate analyses were carried out to find the predictors of a positive CT and further a logistic prognostic risk modeling analysis was performed.

4. Results: CT results were positive in only 26% of cases
Multivariate analysis confirmed fall from height >= 2m (OR= % CI ( ); p=0.05) age <= 2yrs (OR=2.43; 95%CI ( ); P=0.089)
logistic prognostic risk modeling indicated that age below 2 years, dizziness, hematoma and fall >= 2m as high risk for abnormal CT was found to be 80.6% sensitive (95% CI: %) and 35% specific (95% CI: 26.4% %).

5. Conclusion &limitation
The results obtained from this study provide new recommendations that can be considered before referring for CT scan among children presenting with mild head injuries
