ENTRY TASK:
Put out your book and bookmark. What is your prediction for One for the Murphy’s ? Prediction means what do you think is going to happen??
EXPECTATIONS:

4. Listen to the countdown

2. OBJECTIVE
I can use my green chart from Ms. Garrity today to start a story arc on One for the Murphy’s.

3. While We Are Working
START a story arc for One for the Murphy’s. You are going to work on Exposition and Rising Action. Stop after you fill in those on the chart you made. We don’t know the rest of the chart yet!
When you have finished making a story arc and filling in Exposition and Rising Action, read your book.
Write two new sticky notes: What am I wondering, thinking, or asking?
Let’s be compassionate learners by being on task and daring thinkers by reading a lot!

Quiet voice, book out, and be reading/ writing!
Put out your book and bookmark. Write about 1 thing you PREDICTED will happen in your book. Did any of your predictions come true
EXPECTATIONS:
1. Have your pencil, LA book, BIN, and binder.
2. Be in your seat before the bell
3. Honor the speaker
4. Listen to the countdown

5. OBJECTIVE
I can learn the SIGNPOST symbols for my book and use them on my sticky notes. I can learn what a “memory moment” is and write about it in my journal.

6. While We Are Working
We will find a memory moment in our book. When does a main/favorite character in our book think back and REMEMBER something important ? When you find that memory moment. Write about it in your journal.
Title your paper “Memory Moment”. Write about the memory moment for at least 5 sentences and include the page number and the QUOTE where you found it.
Leave your book out so I can check your Memory Moment.
When you are finished, read your book and take two sticky notes using the sign post symbols.

ENTRY TASK:
Quiet voice, book out, and be reading! Can you make your entry task start time shorter?
Have your filled out bookmark. Read for 6 minutes and write one sticky notes using one of the signpost symbols. The symbols on are both whiteboards.
EXPECTATIONS:
1. Have your pencil, LA book, BIN, and binder.
2. Be in your seat before the bell
3. Honor the speaker
4. Listen to the countdown

8. OBJECTIVE
I will do a long write on a memory moment from my book. By the time class, is over I will have written at least 15 sentences on a memory moment in my book and why it is important.

9. While We Are Working
We will find a memory moment in our book. When does a main/favorite character in our book think back and REMEMBER something important ?
Title your paper “Memory Moment” and write your name on it. Write about the memory moment for at least 15 sentences, include the page number, the quote, and WHY this MEMORY MOMENT MATTERS!
Turn your piece of paper into the RED BIN with your name on it.
When you are finished, read your book and take two MORE sticky notes using DIFFERENT sign post symbols.
