1 How to Submit Collection Metadata
Templates Location and Guidelines Collaborator Plone Folders Collaborator Discovery Metadata OTN Collection Metadata are detailed information regarding missions, station deployments/downloads/recoveries and tag releases which are collected using templates designed by OTN for this purpose.

PUBLIC: note addition of Authorization Letter to Vemco This folder contains the latest operational versions of OTN policies, templates and checklists for data collection. Current practice is for the relevant principal investigator and or data manager to download the appropriate spreadsheet(s), enter required data into these spreadsheets and send as attachments to

PUBLIC: OTN Collection Metadata and Field Sheets – OTN Data Sheet Templates (Note: Revised Receiver Metadata to Instrument Deployment Metadata) Excel files of data sheet templates and pdfs of data sheets for printing. Each includes Data Dictionary worksheet for guidance in filling out. NOTE: If you previously downloaded one of these templates, you may need to clear your browser cache in order to download the most recent version because your browser stores copies of previous downloads. The most recent version of each data sheet is listed in the OTN Data Sheet Catalogue. 4

7 Collaborator Plone Folders
NOT PUBLIC (Private status, near top right) – LOGGED IN NOW Received collection metadata and instrument log files are posted on the Members site in the appropriate collaborator folders. Access to these folders by other OTN members is generally controlled by the relevant principal investigator and or data manager (as admin I may access all). Additional folders for categorization, examples: OTN Global series, Regions (14) series, Data Collaborators i.e. DFO, OTN Canada and POKM Only site member users with permission may access the various collaborator folders.

8 Collaborator Field Metadata and Data
NOT PUBLIC – current OTN Canada collaborator folders MPD Minas Passage Dadswell and ACS Cumberland Sound Receiver Deployments and tag releases. Quality control is performed, revised metadata also posted on plone. 8

9 Collaborator Field Metadata and Data
NOT PUBLIC - current OTN Canada collaborator folders All metadata and instrument files are converted to CSV for loading to OTN (postgresql) database.

10 Publically Accessible Collaborator Discovery Metadata
PUBLIC – Where PI has given permission to OTN to make public, the Discovery Metadata Only not collection metadata, instrument log files, etc. Also OTN Global Metadata NOTE: Bob’s Prototype Metadata Catalogue
