Despite clear improvements in haemodynamics with percutaneous LVAD compared with IABP, 30-day mortality appeared to be similar. However, these trials were not powered to test for mortality differences. Random effect models were used for meta-analysis. For the top three panels, weighted mean differences with 95% confidence intervals are presented on the right of the figure.
