China: Cheng Ho One of the building that has the Chinese influences is Cheng Hoo. It is a mosque that was built by the Chinese-Indonesian who is a moslem. Its architecture has some Chinese architecture influences because the colors are so striking and beautiful combination of red, green, yellow and golden brown. This mosque has name of God on the window in Arabian calligraphy instead of Chinese character. However, on top of the entry gate, the name of the mosque is written in Bahasa Indonesia and Chinese characters

7 Other countries influence on surabaya’s old architecture
Dutch: House of Sampoerna One of the building that has the Dutch influences is House of Sampoerna. It is a building that was built by the Dutch but on 1932 it was bought by Lim Sim Tie. On his building on the entrance has the sign of Wang which mean king because he wanted to be the king of “rokok kretek” (cigarette). We can see the Dutch influence on the house of Sampoerna architecture from the windows and door.

9 Other countries influence on surabaya’s old architecture
Armenia: Hotel Majapahit Hotel Majapahit has Armenian influence on its architecture. It was built by Lucas Martin Sarkies. It has a style of art deco or more specifically, Armenia. From the outside, it looks like a very old architecture but well preserved building. Armenia architecture effects the building from the outside of the building inside the interior is a different story.
