Over 700,000 vacancies… Self-employment and entrepreneurship have never been more vibrant… …but many young people don’t know what is available to them or how to get there

8 The Enterprise Adviser network

9 The Careers & Enterprise Company is supporting Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) to build a knowledgeable network of Enterprise Coordinators (EC) who will recruit and manage teams of Enterprise Advisers (EA) to create powerful, lasting connections between local businesses and the schools in their area. EC from the local community is employed or funded by LEP EAs, one per school, are drawn from local businesses and matched to a local school. Network of up to 20 EAs is directed and managed by the EC. Each regional cluster will have a strong governance board with relevant local parties represented The Model

School identified Full needs analysis and self assessment carried out on current Employer Engagement School identify gaps in provision and agree actions to narrow the gap Actions discussed with schools and translated into asks Businesses are sort to support schools ‘Asks’ from self assessment are shared with matched business Business agrees in principle they can support school Meeting arranged between identified business, school and Enterprise Co-ordinator Action planning takes place between business and school to address gaps in provision
