2. Profile – setting Preferences
Login to and click on the yellow My SAS button to select Profile

3. Update the “What I Teach” section
Click on the Green Plus sign to begin building your preferences. Add as many subjects or courses as desired.

4. UPDATE THE “WHAT I TEACH” Section
Enter your preferred title for what you teach and then update the Grades, Subjects, and Courses options.

5. Search standards
You can use the Search Standards option to limit your search to specific grade levels, subjects, courses, keywords, or other preferences.

6. View Standards
You can also select the View Standards option to locate specific standards, anchors, and eligible content.

7. Vertical Viewer
The Vertical Viewer allows you to take a look at the PA Academic and Core Standards as the complexity and sophistication of the statements increase from grade to grade.

8. Vertical Viewer
After you select one of the standards areas based on your search preferences, you will be able to use the green arrow buttons to view higher and lower grades.

9. Other standards features
There are also four options that enable you to search and download PDFs and other PDE materials to support standards implementation.

There are six different tools available in the Assessments section of the SAS portal.

11. Assessment builder
The assessment builder allows you to search for items based on grade level, subject, course, keyword, or any combination.

12. Curriculum framework
The Curriculum Framework specifies the Big Ideas, Concepts, Competencies, and Essential Questions aligned to Standards, Assessment Anchors, and Eligible Content for each subject.

13. Curriculum Framework: Essential Questions
You can select a Big Idea from your search preference, and drill down to Essential Questions to see the Concepts, Competencies, and other details.

There are four published Instructional Frameworks available by selecting one of the choices above.

The Teacher Effectiveness page contains resources related to the Charlotte Danielson Framework. This includes a link to Teachscape’s Teacher Effectiveness Series.

16. Materials & Resources
In the Materials & Resources section, you will find sample unit and lesson plans for Literacy, Literacy/Writing, Mathematics and Science via the Voluntary Model Curriculum.

Aside from personalizing your profile, there are additional options that you will find under My SAS.

19. My SAS: PD Center
In the PD Center, you can sign up for online or face-to-face courses for Act 48 or Act 45.
