1 COLLABORATIVE WORKING TO IMPROVE EDUCATION OUTCOMES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AT RISK OF EXCLUSION
Presented by Eileen Sheerin and Helen McAndrew

2 Background FOR ASHCROFT
Ashcroft School were aware that there was a big transition for students leaving school and starting at college or Post 16 placement. The school decided to look for suitable premises for a construction centre to bridge this gap for some students. Unfortunately, this was a slow process due to difficulty finding these premises and securing the lease. We also struggled to find suitable staff with the knowledge and skills to work with the type of young people we felt would benefit from this service . Following the successful start up of this service, we then realised that there was a further need to broaden the curriculum on offer. We were then given the opportunity to tender for a KS3 provision and also a KS4. Background
