4. Private life HE BECAME a RAPper IN 1995.
Curtis Jackson grew up in queens, in new york, Raised by his mother who died when he was 9 years OLD.
At the age of 12 years old he started to sell drugs and to carry a gun. He got into trouble and was put in prison.
He uses the nickname 50 Cent in reference to a New York Criminal called 50 cent.
HE BECAME a RAPper IN 1995.

5. career
In 1996 he met the singer Jam Master Jay of run-dmc who taught him to write music and sing songs.
In 1998 his first official appearance was on a song entitled “React” with the group onyx.
in 1999, creating more and more good singles, he was attacked and shot 9 times in the body and even in his left jaw and he had to spend 5 months in hospital. The wound to his jaw left him with a small slur in his voice
in the 2000s, he worked with the most famous rappers and even with michael jackson ! Today he has sold 31 millions albums.

6. Why he is my favorite singer
50 cent is my favorite singer because he started from nothing and became a millionaire thanks to his work, this is a very good example of the American dream.
