1. College Prep Period Wednesday, November 12, 2014

2. * Today you will vote for ONE of five yearbook themes. Pick the theme you would like to represent the 2014-2015 Yearbook! * Please select only one theme. * (Teachers, pass out ballots and return them to the box in the mail room by Thursday morning)

3. * Seasons (all 4 seasons will be represented) * Beach * Fireworks * Tie-Dye * Fairy Tale The theme will be on the cover of the yearbook and be represented throughout the book (by the page number etc.)

4. * Yearbook Staff Members will count your votes on Thursday * The 2014-2015 Yearbook Theme will be announced Friday morning!

5. There will be a contest to design the cover of the 2014-2015 Lathrop Yearbook! There will be 12 winners! 1 st Place: Your art will be printed on the front cover of the yearbook, your art will be used on the Yearbook Staff Member Shirts, AND you will receive a FREE YEARBOOK! 2 nd Place: Your art will be printed on the back cover of the yearbook! 10 Runners Up: Your artwork will be featured on a page in the yearbook! All winners will have their name printed next to their artwork (1 st and 2 nd place will have their names on the front/back cover!) *Entries cost only$1! ONLY ONE ENTRY PER STUDENT

6. * Your drawing must be school appropriate. No drugs, substances, gang symbols, weapons, etc. * Your art must follow the selected theme (it will be announced on FRIDAY 11/14- LISTEN FOR THE ANNOUNCEMENT!) * Your artwork must be original. It must be YOUR artwork. No printing, tracing, or photocopying from another source or computer-generated images. DRAW NEATLY! (no erase marks, or traced lines) MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO HOLE PUNCHES IN YOUR PAPER. * Please COLOR your entry unless you intend for your entry to be black and white. * You may choose to write the school’s name and yearbook theme, but if you do not include it on your entry, the yearbook team will select the font and position (where to place the text) for you.

7. * ENTRIES DUE FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5 th * Bring your art and entry fee ($1 to Ms. Wolff in room 218 AFTER SCHOOL) * Paper size must be 8 ½ by 11 inches; NO BIGGER, NO SMALLER! * Your paper must face up and down (portrait layout) * When you turn in your art, write your first and last name, ID #, and your college prep teacher ON A POST-IT NOTE. Attach this to the back of your artwork. (We don’t want any writing on the back of your art).

8. * Your College Prep teacher will give you a flier with all of this information. * Be sure to write down the theme when you hear the announcement on Friday! If you have any questions, please ask Ms. Wolff in room 218 or a Yearbook Staff Member!
