Formed a group of 3 practitioners to implement Lesson Study.
Researched feedback – types, when and how.
Looked deeper into research on immediate feedback.
Created a study to target impact on specific children.
Used IRIS to help capture feedback in the classroom of observed practitioner.
Repeated the observations over a series of weeks.
Recorded the child’s responses before and after study.

Looked again at Growth Mindset – how has the teacher changed their approach to feedback based on the children’s feedback and impact.
Investigated how this could impact in my own classroom setting.
Measured how this was promoting greater reflection, thinking and learning.

Implemented immediate feedback approaches in own classroom with a heightened level of awareness of this and how the pupils were responding.
I knew from previous study - Children all preferred different styles.
Some were less open to immediate feedback and needed to move towards being open to change.
Some didn’t recognise immediate feedback and hadn’t been able to act upon it effectively when it was given.

Openness culture is fully apparent
Rates of staff wanting to focus on improving an area of teaching through self and peer reflection has increased significantly
Instead of being told you have to use it, people are proactively using to help improve performance
