Turn around and face the back ready for announcements. If you come in late, just have a seat. You may sign the tardy log and take care of your belongings AFTER announcements.

2 AOT, BSA 1, & BSA /15/16 Essential Question: How can obtaining a certification help you not only with your education, but also in your career search? Look in Gmetrix and see if you have been “training” or “testing”; count how many times you have completed training sessions and how many times you have completed testing sessions. Once you have your counts, please turn and face the back. AOT STUDENTS: Open Certiport.com and check to make sure you can log in to the site. If you can’t you will need to create an account using your school login info and school address. I will complete lessons (Word Expert, Excel, and Word) in preparation for certification. I will use Gmetrix to prepare for certification in my area of study.

Essential Question: What is system software and what are examples of various operating systems? How do the components of a computer’s hardware function? Bell Work: If you are sitting at a workstation that is an even number define these terms: Operating system, file management, platform, DOS If you are sitting at a workstation that is an odd number define these terms: Windows, Mac, Cloud, Backup I will demonstrate my knowledge of the correct keyboarding technique. I will identify operating system file naming conventions, demonstrate proficiency with file management and structure, demonstrate a working knowledge of standard file formats, and know the history and purpose of various operating systems. I will explain the process of troubleshooting problems with computer hardware peripherals, inc. input/output devices, explain general architecture of a pc, explain the need for and use of peripherals, demonstrate proficiency using peripherals, and identify basic concepts of computer maintenance and upgrades.
