6 Equations are mathematical sentences which involve equality.
Properties of Equality: 1. Addition Property 2. Subtraction Property 3. Multiplication Property 4. Division Property 5. Substitution Property

7 An algebraic equation is a mathematical statement that relates two algebraic expressions involving at least one variable. A linear equation in one variable is an equation in which every time the variable appears, it is raised to the first power and the variable does not appear in the denominator.

8 Solving the equation is the process
of finding values of the variable which result in a true statement. Replacement set or domain the set of numbers that are permitted to replace the variable. Solution set the set of elements in the domain of the variable that makes the equation true. Solution or root - each element of the solution set.

9 Types of Equations: Identity – true for all elements from the domain of the variable. Conditional – true for certain domain values and false for others. Contradiction – false for all elements from the domain of the variable. 4. Equivalent – both equations have the same solution set for a given replacement set.

10 Proverbs 1:3 “For acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, do what is right and just and fair.” A satisfying Christian life always requires a balance. Otherwise, life will become miserable.
