New Tracks Involvement at the first design stage LINK Site inspections in the lead up to the first race LINK FIA Circuit Commission formally validates new applications LINK Established Tracks Follow up on requested improvements LINK Track inspection in the weeks before the race LINK

4 2. PRE-EVENT DOCUMENTATION
Two months prior to each Event the organiser and promoter are provided with a document setting out our needs and a general overview of the systems and procedures we bring, install and operate. LINK

5 3. ACCREDITATION OF OFFICIALS
It is normal at all F1 races to use marshals and track workers provided by the circuit or organiser, the FIA usually need to determine how many are necessary though. There is no set formula for this of course as the number will always depend on variables such as : Experience of Personnel Races in new countries normally require mentoring during the first or second years LINK Track Length and Layout This will determine the number of officials and track workers needed LINK

6 4. SYSTEMS INSTALLATION BEFORE THE EVENT
Timekeeping systems Positioning loops, more than 20 are installed around each track and are used mainly for : LINK Positioning DRS detection and activation Television camera switching Start lights and pit exit lights LINK Pit lane speed limit monitoring LINK Jump start system LINK Weather forecasting equipment LINK

7 4. SYSTEMS INSTALLATION BEFORE THE EVENT (CONT)
Circuit light panels Track panels LINK Grid panels LINK LINK Positioning and marshalling system Paddock and pit lane networks Intercom connections to all teams on the pit wall LINK Network connection to all team garages Official messaging system LINK Pit lane cameras LINK LINK Parc ferme cameras LINK Pit stop cameras LINK

Scrutineering and technical equipment : Weighing and measuring platform set up and calibration. LINK Set up of the fuel laboratory. LINK Checking all engines and gearboxes are sealed, and if not, why? Allocation of tyres and input all serial numbers into the system. LINK

9 5. MEETINGS WITH SENIOR OFFICIALS
• Issues arising from the previous years race, review incidents or recoveries and if necessary review video footage. 11 7. SYSTEMS TESTING Test with the Safety and Medical Cars on the day before first practice. LINK Medical car and equipment. LINK Testing all race control systems. Light panels. Positioning system LINK Marshalling system LINK Racewatch system LINK Communications LINK Safety Car monitoring LINK Systems testing again every day before track activity

12 8. TRACK INSPECTIONS Track inspections 30 minutes before all F1 sessions Check that all marshals are in place LINK Check that any damage has been repaired correctly LINK Check the track is clean LINK Final communications check between race control, stewards, safety car, medical car, stewards and the teams.
