MIRA: Mediterranean Innovation & Research Coordination Action Objectives: Support a dialogue to identify S&T priorities for mutual benefit and interest and define cooperation policy orientations; Implement specific activities to promote and contribute to the participation of the target regions in the Framework Programme; Monitor and review of going cooperation activities and provide feedback and updating of the policies.  CSA, 28 partners (14 from MPC), contribution: 3 M€, start: 01/01/08 MIRA workshop, July 2009, Bari (Italy)

Synthesis of several successful activities (ESTIME, ASBIMED, MED7, EuroMEDANet, ERA-MED, ProMEDAccess, INNFORMED); Support of the Euro-Med policy dialogue in S&T (MoCo); Shared responsibilities (type and role of participants); Role of the institutional MPC participants in priority setting; Coordination and complementarities between the FP activities and the multilateral activities of the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI); Openness of the INCO-NET to all EU and MPC actors willing to participate in the strengthening of the EU-MPC cooperation in S&T. Bilateral S&T Cooperation Partnerships (BILAT): Objective: Strengthen the cooperation partnership between the EU and countries, which have an S&T cooperation agreement or are in the process of negotiating one. Transnational Cooperation among NCPs (INCO NCP): Promote trans-national cooperation between the National Contact Points (NCP) of the International Cooperation activities of the Capacities Programme. First phase: INCONTACT, 0.4M€, start: 01/01/08; Second phase: INCONTACT one world, 2 M€ (under negotiation) MIRA workshop, July 2009, Bari (Italy)

INCONTACT one world should address the following: Enhancing cooperation of INCO NCP; Increasing the visibility of the Framework Programme in third countries; Expanding the NCP network – Networking with Thematic NCPs; Developing good practices. 13 partners in consortium (all NCPs)  The activities and deliverables of the project will be made available to ALL the INCO NCPs. Integrating Europe's neighbours into the ERA (ERA-WIDE): Objective: To reinforce the cooperation capacities of research centres located in the ENP countries, which are not associated to FP7, in the areas of the thematic priorities of FP7. MIRA workshop, July 2009, Bari (Italy)

10 The proposal should target only one such centre;
CAPACITIES - International Cooperation WP ERA-WIDE – Participants profile The call is addressed to research centres of proven high level S&T capacities, which are located in an ENP country not associated to FP7; The proposal should target only one such centre; The consortium should however include additional participants, in particular from the MS and/or AC so as to fulfil the objectives of the activity; The research centre targeted by the proposal should be the coordinator of the proposal. 11 CAPACITIES - International Cooperation WP2010 - ERA-WIDE - Activities
ERA-WIDE actions: Networking with research centres in MS or AC in view of disseminating scientific information, identifying partners and setting up joint experiments; Developing training modules to build competency and facilitate the participation of these centres in FP7; Developing research centres’ strategy in order to increase their scope (regional coverage, activities) and to improve their responses to the socio-economic needs of their countries and of the region. CAPACITIES - International Cooperation WP ERA-WIDE – Expected Impact ERA-WIDE impact: Contribution to RTD capacity building in the target country, Enhanced participation of the country in FP7, Increased scope (regional coverage, subjects, activities) of the centres with increased linkage with economic and social environment, Networking with research centres in MS and AC (mobilising human and material resources, disseminating scientific information, facilitating communication…), Increased job opportunities in the country for young scientists.
