2 Year 8 THINK and REFLECT…
How are you doing in Year 8? How much EFFORT are you putting in, in class/home? What levels are you expecting to get? How are you going to achieve these? It is important to have GOALS and think about how you will achieve these… Sometimes… When you are struggling with something and the outcome seems too difficult to achieve, don’t change the overall outcome, instead take different approaches and steps in order to still achieve that target.

3 Think… Have you ever said the following in a lesson?
“I’m no good at this sort of question” “I can’t study, I always forget things” “I’m no good at maths so there is no point” “This is too hard , I will never get this” “I’m not as intelligent as she is” These are all negative thoughts we need to turn them into positive thoughts

SHARE What is it and how to use it! Presented by Divleen and Jasraj

34 Service to others What is service to others?
Service to others is the first share value in our school and it means being helpful and helping others in the school with out of your own generosity. How do we use it? We can use this value in our school in many ways. You can HELP peers by aiding them in work (not anything that has to be done individually without help). You can help teachers by helping them with any work they need to do or just paying attention and not disrupting the class (and helping others not to).

35 Humility What is Humility?
Humility is to be modest and sincere with each and everyone and not being arrogant and egoistic which benefits all of us.

36 Achievement What is Achievement?
Achievement is when you push forward in anything and reach your goal with pride How to use it? In school you can push further to achieve better grades and if you do finally reach your goal, Make sure you are HUMBLE about it and do not brag.

37 Respect Respect makes everyone feel like this: What is respect?
Respect is to always be polite and get along with each other as if you are a team and helping each other in our goals. How does this help us? This helps us as we treat everyone with it and they treat us with it as well. We all get happy-but not too happy (that is ego)- and we start being more friendly to one another. Respect makes everyone feel like this:

38 Equality What is Equality?
Equality is the value in which you are fair and EQUAL to others and you treat everyone with the same RESPECT. How to use it? Just be fair!! You should be doing it without thinking and know that you should treat everybody how you want to be treated.

39 Humility in Year 8 In each year in this school we are given a share value to focus on. In Year Eight we have been given HUMILITY. This share value helps us perform our best in school work and daily lives by letting us be calmer with our surroundings and calms our peers from any fighting due to not being humble. For example: If you have friends who have the same grades as you and suddenly you get a much higher grade than the rest, if you loose your humility you will most likely brag about it, therefore (theoretically) making your friends annoyed at your arrogance. This can lead to many disputes which, in some cases (which they shouldn’t) , can become violent. By being humble and keeping this to yourself you will be happier and so will your peers.
