With another flag… U.S. flag above. On a wall… Union on top left. From a pole… Union on top. On a coffin… Draped with the union over the head end on the left side. From a wall… Union up and away.

When a U.S. flag is worn out, it should not be put in the garbage. Boy Scouts, Fire Departments, and Veteran Organizations hold special ceremonies to burn old U.S. flags.
