8 Objective of MoC To ensure young people make the best use of education and training destination data to inform choice, what should government do… …this year? …in future years? Key questions to answer How do learners make choices? What information services are of most use to them, particularly at key “moments of choice”? Of these services: Can DD help provide the information needed? (i.e. without additional data collection) Are there information providers who might provide the service?(what conditions would need to be in place for this to happen?) Supports the case for more encounters to inspire and give a sense of what is possible Argues that we need to address the information issue also Simply the information landscape Support targeted messaging around what matters most We have consulted with the sector on how we might do that proposing public information campaigns through the network and through schools addressing key questions: How can I understand and develop my employability skills? What is the value of different qualifications? Responses to the consultation have asked us to go further and look at how integration of encounters, information and a plan can be better supported in schools
