2 Cover Letters Who Needs a cover letter?
Each time you send out a resume, a cover letter should accompany it. It is regarded as a sign of laziness to send out a cover letter that is not tailored to the specific position you are seeking. The cover letter gives you a chance to emphasize what you have to contribute to a company.

3 What makes a good cover letter?
No spelling or typing errors. (consult a dictionary or a book specific to proper use of grammar.) It should be addressed to the person who can hire you. Write it in your own words, it should not be directly out of a book. Show that you know something about the company and the industry in general. This may require some research on your part but is shows initiative. Tailor your letter to the specific job and company

4 Use a font that’s easy to read, and print on 8.5 x 11-inch white paper
Use terms and phrases that are meaningful to the employer. If you are replying to an advertised position, use those requirements in your letter. If the posting asked for the amount of hours a week you are available to work, be sure to answer that question in the cover letter. Not extremely lengthy. A good cover letter contains three - four paragraphs. Use a font that’s easy to read, and print on 8.5 x 11-inch white paper Use a professional tone.  Be sure to use professional and respectful language when writing your cover letter. Have someone Proofread Proofread final copy for spelling and\or grammatical errors.

5 FIRST PARAGRAPH Establish the goal of your letter,
attract and draw interest Identify the objective of your letter indicating the job title or the type of employment you’re seeking. Specify how you found out about the position and the employer.

6 SECOND PARAGRAPH Draw interest
Let the employers see how your skills and experience answers the employers’ needs Place emphasis on your accomplishments, abilities and your past experiences The ones relevant to the employer and to the requirements of the job in question. Sell your competencies; your ultimate goal is to show the employer that you should be contacted for an interview and you’re the candidate he’s looking for. Try focusing on your experiences and aptitudes that are related to the job you’re applying for.

7 THIRD PARAGRAPH Let know your actions:
Indicate the necessary actions you intend to take once you’ve handed out your cover letter and your resume. Write in a precise manner the sequence of actions you intend to take and specify your availability. Show interest in interview Mention that you’re very interested to be contacted for an interview. Thank the employer.
