2 Homework! Homework is always based on what your child has already learnt in school and shouldn’t be new to them. Our calculation policies, showing how we teach the four rules – addition, subtraction, multiplication and division - are available on the school website.

Counting: Red cars on the way to school Biscuits on a plate Spring flowers in the garden Socks in the wash (and possibly a discussion about why the answer should be even!) Birds seen on the pond

Measuring: Weight – baking cakes Length – measuring feet, the length of their room, making Play Doh snakes Capacity – playing with bottles in the bath, doing the washing up Time – reading clocks
