iPERL Accuracy Curve Typical PD Meter iPERL
iPERL gets to 100% accuracy quickly because there are no moving parts Can see the linearity across the entire flow range Typical PD Meter iPERL Typical 20 Year Old PD Meter
14

Measuring Technology Floating Ball Technology One moving part
Simple assembly Measuring Technology – The quantum leap has been made with the invention and application of the Floating Ball Technology (FBT). The FBT is virtually weightless in water and creates no friction as it operates. No friction means no wear. The measuring technology improvements all come from the Floating Ball Technology or FBT. FBT is based on a ball-shaped turbine impeller, which allows water to capture the impeller and have it float upon its bearings. Even at extremely low flows, the impeller rises from the axial bearings. As flow increases, the impeller centers itself and literally floats inside the measuring chamber. This FBT now allows us to get metering reads at lower and higher flow rates than any current turbo meter on the market today. The most complex part of this solution is our ability to obtain reads at low flow rates. How can you create a measuring device that is so sensitive that you obtain reads, in this example using the 2” T2 meter, at 1.5 GPM? The FBT delivers. As you can see, we are now measuring at a flow rate over two times lower than competitors. Working in conjunction with the extended flow range is the improved accuracy. Again, through the meter comparison, this meter outperforms our competitors by a significant margin. In addition, there is literally only one moving part contained within the measuring chamber. Simplicity of maintenance, no friction, no wear. Peace of mind. Simple Assembly – One measuring chamber and fewer individual components in which to maintain. In the end, this is a lower cost meter through maintenance and operational efficiencies and definitely is way ahead of the product life cost calculations vs. anything on the market today.

Electronic Register - Modes
Three modes 2 outputs: AMR/AMI & Pulse Gal, m³, IG, AF The OMNI’s measurement performance is complemented by an all-electronic register. The decision to offer the first all-electronic register on a commercial meter wasn’t made arbitrarily. With the utility’s need for more data with which to make operating decisions and enhanced battery life technology available today, the all-electronic register is now the way to go. Three modes of operation – AMR Display Mode - displays what is being output electronically via the AMR/AMI output cable. TOTAL Display Mode - displays a full eight digit reading that displays meter totalization. TEST Display Mode - utilizes a re-settable totalizer for use when running flow tests on the meter. The register offers two electronic outputs. Now utilities are able to link the OMNI meter to both an AMR / AMI system and a SCADA or other type of distribution monitoring system that accept pulse inputs at the same time. Programmable Features – For total customer flexibility, the all-electronic register has the capability to: - Program reading resolution – Gallons, Cubic Meters, Imperial Gallons and Acre Feet. - AMR output wheels resolutions - Pulse output resolutions – choose any of the eight wheels (default will be to the lowest value wheel to the right) - LCD readout default – choose either normal visual display of the AMR or Total register number wheels The all-electroinic register includes an easy to read LCD Odometer display. The register also contains a battery with a 10 year warranty with a 1-year low battery warning indicator. This low battery warning is also available as an output to the AMR module to provide an indication via the AMR/AMI system if the system module is compatible. In addition, the meter has a 31-day data logging function as well. The 31-day data logging feature logs the highest and lowest flow for each day as well as recorded consumption. It is a 31-day logging function, so on day 32, the oldest data is overwritten. As you can see, the benefits of an all-electronic register are numerous. Our main goal was to develop a meter that captured information. This information will allow utilities to make betters decisions addressing operational and customer concerns. The sophisticated AMR / AMI systems are designed to provide utilities with more data in which to make more informed operational decisions. Our thought, why not imbed more intelligence within the metering platform as well?
