5 Purpose/Focus Review various methods for making more eligible students aware of supplemental educational services; Help districts understand the purpose and functions of  these services to improve student achievement. 3

6 Expected Outcomes Participants will become familiar with methods for improving SES participation rates. Participants will have a better understanding of SES purposes and functions. 4

April-May Early preparation period for upcoming school year Review and revise SES program procedures Develop and modify ongoing provider monitoring system Begin data collection on existing eligible students Prepare notification to parents Prepare for current year Effectiveness Report (ER) Survey parents and teachers of students who received services Request provider self-evaluation of effectiveness May-June Contact and consult with providers Submit ERs for current year to Ohio Department of Education Contact all state approved providers to determine interest in working with district for upcoming school year Request program information from each interested provider Develop data base of program information of interested providers to be used in parent information booklets Continue early preparation Continue data collection of eligible students Provide SES information to parents of students to help prepare them for selection process in upcoming school year Assist parents in selection process as requested June-July Confirm school SI status Identify new eligible students Continue preparation for upcoming school year Collect data on new eligible students and update database of existing eligible students Prepare provider information booklet using data collected from state approved providers Contact media resources for public service announcements 5
