Uniting 29 partners from 12 countries Integrating the maritime surveillance systems around the Mediterranean sea In the context of the European surveillance of (maritime) borders - EUROSUR Started on 1/1/2011 Operating for 4 years

demonstrate and validate the first effective SoS for a cooperative trans-national European wide integrated maritime border system of systems improve the detection and tracking of small boats used for cross-border crimes and irregular migration experiment cooperation mechanisms and timely information sharing between Member States Authorities and EU agencies

Challenges Integrate heterogeneous surveillance systems and C2s that have not been initially developed for PERSEUS functions Develop trans-National capabilities while respecting the Nation sovereignty domains Develop technical interoperability solutions while organisational and procedural interoperability is not yet achieved Foster standardisation in organisations that are generally working in silos
