THE LORD OF THE RINGS The Lord of Rings is a story written by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien that belongs to the genre of high fantasy, a fantasy set in a alternative, fictional world.

J. R. R. Tolkien Tolkien was an English writer, poet, philologist, and university professor who is best known as the author of the classic high-fantasy works The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion.

Life and Faith Catholic theology and imagery played a part in fashioning Tolkien's creative imagination, suffused as it was by his deeply religious spirit. Tolkien acknowledged this himself: "The Lord of the Rings is of course a fundamentally religious and Catholic work; unconsciously so at first, but consciously in the revision. That is why I have not put in, or have cut out, practically all references to anything like 'religion', to cults or practices, in the imaginary world. For the religious element is absorbed into the story and the symbolism".

Frodo He is like Moses because he doesn't want to bring the ring, he doesn't carry forward his mission Frodo is a hobbit who reflects three important biblical characters: Abraham, Moses and Jesus He is Jesus because he takes charge of a responsability that can save all his friends. He sacrifices himself to save his world. He is like Abraham when he must go away from his country and he doesn't say where he 's head

Gandalf Gandalf is a wizard, a great friend of Bilbo Baggins, the Frodo's uncle. He represents an important content of christianity: the providence, the presence of God in the uman history. In fact he tells Frodo that he arrives exactly when he must arrive. Neither after neither before.

Communion of Saints The Communion of Saints refers to believers in the past, believers in the present and believers in the years to come sharing a common salvation in our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. The felllowship of the ring is the speech of the Communion of Saints: Everyone is important and essential to realize the project of God in human history
