Notice the word “Reactivate” used throughout the scope and sequence to indicate where skills are revisited throughout the levels. Children take a Screener when first entering the program to determine their appropriate starting point within the scope and sequence. We’ll learn more about the Screener later in the training.

Children are placed at one of six entry points in the Software scope and sequence. Screener Placement All children take the Screener when they begin the Software for the first time in order to ensure that they are working at their appropriate instructional levels. The Screener places children into the Software scope and sequence at one of six entry points based on their grade level and performance on the Screener tasks. Click to reveal the chart showing the six entry points and the corresponding criteria for each. Point out that some entry points are available to all K–2 children who achieve a score within the corresponding Total Fluent range, whereas higher entry points are only available to children in certain grade levels. This ensures that foundational skills are established before children proceed to more complex skills. The Software will, however, personalize each child's instructional path as they proceed through the Software, allowing children who demonstrate mastery of certain skills to move more quickly through some topics, while focusing on others. We'll learn more about that shortly. It is recommended that children take the Screener again at the start of each school year for the most accurate placement. This allows for adjustments due to summer slide. Information on Screener Placement is continued on the next two slides. Placement is based on children's performance on the Screener and on their grade levels.

14 Scroll over the blue dots above “Class Analytics” to view 3 different pieces of data:

16 Teachers may view data for every session a student has completed.
The green indicates this child has mastered all of the topics within each of the series in 1-2 cycles. For each topic, the teacher can view the number of cycles needed to complete the topic as well as the number of minutes needed.
