Mr. Bueller, the French teacher, realizes that Victor is just pretending to know French but he chooses not to call him on it, remembering his own youthful desire to impress girls.
Victor goes to French class and sits near Theresa and tries to impress her by pretending to already speak French.
Victor is relieved to find out that Theresa believes he really does speak French.
Theresa asks Victor to tutor her in French and Victor happily agrees.
Victor goes to his remaining classes then takes a trip to the public library to check out some books on French.
At Lunch, Victor sees Theresa in the distance. Their eyes meet and she smiles.
Victor decides that he is going to like seventh grade.
Climax
In English class, Victor accidentally gives Theresa’s name as an example of a noun. He is embarrassed when the class finds this funny.
On Victor’s first day in seventh grade he gets his new schedule and is pleased to see that Theresa, a girl he likes, is in his French class.
Victor meets up with his friend Michael and they discuss girls, movies and their schedules for seventh grade.
Victor reports to his homeroom class and discovers that Theresa is in two of his classes: homeroom and French.
On the way to first period, Victor speaks to Theresa but he thinks what he said sounded stupid.
