Funding of bottom up initiatives to enhance ICT collaboration Call opened from March to May 2014 55 applications received from 130 organisations 21 SEA-EU initiatives selected for funding “EU-SEA Workshop and cooperation on Internet of Things and Open Platforms” (January 2015, Vietnam) EU-SEA Workshop “Advanced Computing for Control and Performance Optimization: Algorithms and Applications” (March 2015, Thailand) Event “EU-SEA Wearable take-off”, 3-day workshop dealing with wearable devices and its market, best practice exchange (April 2015, Indonesia) Examples DD/MM/YYYY, Place Lecturer

Create connections between EU and SEA networks and organisations Support collaboration Inform about ICT research trends and priorities Point out funding opportunities Reinforcing ICT R&D and innovation cooperation “Information and Communication Technologies in EU and ASEAN: priorities and collaboration opportunities” – Workshop at ASEAN-EU Science, Technology and Innovation Days (Thailand, January 2014) “Workshop on Real-Time Interactive Web-Based Distance Learning Environment for Europe” – SEA – Japan (Philippines, November 2014) Panel session on ICT research collaboration and academia-industry collaboration in SEA and between SEA and Europe (Thailand, March 2015) Examples DD/MM/YYYY, Place Lecturer

Contribution to ICT policy dialogue Targeted actions – focus on cyber security Organise policy round tables Prepare recommendations for policy makers POLICY ROUND TABLES, as a strategic forum for EU and SEA stakeholders in ICT RDI and policy, with the goal to discuss synergies between the RDI collaborative programmes relevant ICT projects/activities that would have high impacts for both regions problems and obstacles of the EU-SEA RDI ICT collaboration directions for enhancing the EU-SEA ICT collaboration Examples DD/MM/YYYY, Place Lecturer
