2 Buying a new home can be a daunting experience
Buying a new home can be a daunting experience. Especially for those who have not done it before. a lot of people hire the services of a home inspector but they can be costly. If they pronounce a house unfit, you would have to pay them anyway. Here are a few simple things that you can do yourself to save on this cost while zeroing in on a new home. The structure and water control You should look at the house from a reasonable vantage point at a distance. Ask yourself if the walls appear to be plump or flat. From the inside, do any of the walls look bowed or not squared at the corners? If you jump in the middle of the room, does the floor flex, or is it solid? Also check if the ground water slopes away from the base of the house, and will gutters, downspouts and drainage pipes carry excess water away from the house, or into the basement. Do you see any evidence of floor damage, small or big? Look into these important questions and try to get all queries answered.

3 The roof, details and kitchen and bath fixtures
Check if the roof is new and in good shape. Also see if it looks neat and properly structured. See if there are signs of quality workmanship in the finish details like moldings, tile work paint as well as hardware. Coming to the kitchen, see if the sinks, toilets and tubs are quality fixtures and if any of them show signs of leakage. Turn all water fixtures on and see if there are blockages and that they all work. Additionally see if the water pressure is good and steady.

4 Electrical system, water, heater, plumbing
Is the water heater gas or electric? Remember that gas is much more efficient. All the water supply pipes from the water heater to the fixtures should be made from copper, period. Coming to the electrical system, check if the number and locations of the receptacles are adequate for the size of the house and they are convenient for you. The main circuit breaker should be of 100 amperes at least.

5 Heating Look for the location of the furnace and the heater. Check to see what type it is, and also if there are any unheated rooms in the house. This could spell trouble later on. Are the registers adequate for heating the spaces? Check if the house is air conditioned. If you live in Rocklin or Roseville CA, look for homes for sale in Rocklin CA, Rocklin real estate, new homes in Roseville CA, or Homes for sale in Lincoln CA.
