3 About Me I was born and raised in a small town in Ohio.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Brian, and have a four-legged furry son, my little Yorkie Bentley. I attended GMU and graduated with my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction I taught in Fairfax County for 11 years and am excited to be in Loudoun this year.

Tuesday: Computer Lab 8:30-9:30 and Music 12:45-1:15 Wednesday: PE 12:15-12:45 and Guidance or SEARCH 12:45 to 1:15 Thursday:  Music 12:15 to 12:45 PM and P.E. 12:45 to 1:15 PM Friday: Art 12:15 to 1:05 PM Daily Lunch 11:00 to 11:00 PM Daily Recess: 11:35 to 12:00 PM

Students will write their homework down in their agendas daily. Homework is a nightly minute process Read Independently 20 minutes Math for minutes (IXL, DreamBox, Reflex Math, Etc.) Word Study (If not completed in school)

10 Reading A balanced or comprehensive literacy approach is used. This includes shared reading, reading conferences and independent reading as well as read-alouds, literature study and explicit skills lessons. The Skills include the following: 1)Connecting 2)Predicting 3)Questioning 4)Inferring 5)Synthesizing/Visualization 6)Evaluating/Applying

11 Writing Writing Students write for many purposes with emphasis on explanatory and descriptive writing. Students also practice basic research skills, with an emphasis on information collection, summary and paraphrasing and identifying resources. 16 Guidelines for Determining Grades
4 Consistently demonstrates concepts and skills of standard taught this quarter (fully mastered) 3 Usually demonstrates concepts and skills of standard taught this quarter Seldom demonstrates concepts and skills of standard taught this quarter Sometimes demonstrates concepts and skills of standard taught this quarter 2 1 Teachers will use a 4 point rubric to report academic achievement, effort, reading level, life, work, and citizenship skills This rubric describes the student’s level of mastery. Reference the 4 points and the specific vocabulary: consistently, usually, sometimes, seldom Use the plant model to help guide understanding!

To receive a “4” you must add an extra word under each header that fits with your word sort. Please explain WHY each word fits.
